Grupo Fedola's hotel chain receives the Canary Islands Tourism Award in the Sustainable Employment category.
GF Hoteles receives the Canary Islands Tourism Award in the Sustainable Employment category, an award that recognizes companies and professionals in the tourism sector that have implemented improvements in quality, equality, safety, work-life balance, and occupational health. On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the island of La Palma hosted the awards ceremony, where Victoria López, president of Grupo Fedola, collected the award, accompanied by Ana Belén López, vice president of Grupo Fedola, and Juan Carlos de León, director of operations at GF Hoteles.
During the ceremony, Victoria López expressed her gratitude: "I accept this award on behalf of the more than 1,200 employees who are part of GF Hoteles and who daily promote sustainability management focused on emphasizing the value of people. With this approach, we have grown and will continue to grow in the coming years."
At the ceremony, the Minister of Tourism and Employment of the Canary Islands Government, Jéssica de León , emphasized that chains like GF Hoteles "refute stereotypes with facts: local taxation, diversification, quality employment, equality, sustainability."
People at the heart of the strategy
The jury highlighted GF Hoteles' firm commitment to the well-being of its team, always placing people at the center of its business strategy. The chain promotes measures that promote work-life balance and improve working conditions, such as a summer camp for the children of its team, which allows them to balance family and professional life, or the introduction of motorized carts in the housekeeping department, which reduce physical strain and enhance safety in daily work.
It has also launched an internal communications app that fosters closeness and engagement among the entire workforce, and has strengthened its customer service through a digital platform that offers specialized support and work-life balance services.
Along with these initiatives, GF Hoteles maintains a constant commitment to ongoing training and internal promotion, convinced that the professional development of its team is key to the organization's success. This approach has consolidated the company as a benchmark in creating sustainable, inclusive, and quality work environments within the Canary Islands tourism sector.
Also present at the gala was Mónica López, Vice President of Grupo Fedola, who accompanied the chain's achievement alongside the management team of GF Hoteles. The chain, part of Grupo Fedola, has five properties in Tenerife. The company is distinguished by its dedication to service, its commitment to sustainability, and its focus on putting people at the center of all its actions.
