Circular economy
We participate in the ‘Circular Tourist Communities’ project promoted by Ashotel and Asaga by transferring our bio-waste to a composting plant. In this way, we take advantage of the
organic matter produced in our hotels (fruit peels, vegetables, coffee grounds and pruning remains) and regenerate soils and agricultural farms for better agricultural production and subsequent local supply.
Food waste
We were the first hotel chain to begin measuring food waste
through artificial intelligence. We quantify food waste from the buffet
linked to the profile of each guest staying. With this initiative, food waste is reduced, menus are optimized and adjusted to the tastes and demands of each type of client.
We promote the local economy
More than 90% of the turnover from all purchases of products and services is made from local suppliers.

Green roof
The green roof of GF Victoria is a unique infrastructure in the Canary Islands and an example of sustainability and architecture in the archipelago. This ‘green carpet’, with more than 1000m2, has vegetation adapted to an environment with lots of sun and little water.
Its thermal insulation can generate savings of 20% in heating installations and 70% in air conditioning.
Laundry
The GF Hoteles laundry is an example of energy efficiency that supplies service to the chain's four hotels in Costa Adeje. In 2012, 21 litres of water were needed for each kilo of laundry and with this installation, consumption has been reduced by more than 50%.
At the dry cleaners we work with 'wet cleaning', a system in which we use less aggressive and more ecological products. In addition, customers' clothes are protected by 'non-woven' fabric.
