The chain allocated 5% of its online sales and transformed Black Friday into Blue Stay, a solidarity gesture that promotes inclusion.
GF Hoteles, the hotel chain of Grupo Fedola, has donated over €10,000 to La Granja Sensorial TEA, a pioneering space in Tenerife dedicated to the inclusion and development of people with autism and their families. Taking advantage of one of the busiest shopping periods of the year, the company went a step further and transformed Black Friday into a Blue Stay, a charitable initiative that has generated social impact through its online bookings.
Under the slogan “We believe in tourism with purpose,” GF Hoteles donated 5% of all sales made through its website between November 28 and December 1 to support this initiative. The positive response from customers resulted in a total of €10,400 being raised, which will be used to create a new resource for the well-being of children with autism.
“The most beautiful thing about this initiative is that it stems from something as simple as booking a holiday with us, and thanks to that, we can now contribute to a project that changes lives and builds the future,” said Sandra Herrera, Commercial and Marketing Director of GF Hotels. “Supporting this project is consistent with our values and the responsibility we have as a business group rooted in the Canary Islands.”
Eduardo Reyes and Carolina Hernández, founders of La Granja Sensorial TEA, expressed their gratitude for the donation. “Our project is growing little by little, so help like this gives us a huge boost,” they commented. They also wanted to thank all the customers whose reservations made this contribution possible. “The donation will be used for new sensory modules and, specifically, for the creation of a children's module,” they emphasized.
Building an inclusive play space
The funds raised will go towards the construction of a children's playground at La Granja Sensorial TEA, in the municipality of San Miguel, with the aim of offering children an inclusive, adapted and completely safe play environment.
The module will feature a small playhouse made of Scots pine, as well as tables and benches specially designed to encourage interaction, creativity, and sensory stimulation. This new corner will become a space where children can explore, learn, and share happy moments with their families, reinforcing values of independence and community.
This initiative reinforces GF Hoteles' commitment to purposeful tourism, dedicated to the community and to improving the social environment. The chain will continue to promote charitable actions that generate a real impact in the Canary Islands and contribute to building a more inclusive society.
